“I’m looking forward to playing, winning and I’ve been saying for a while that we need more choices. So, this is exciting for me and the games look good too,” expressed Sandra Hamilton, a clothes vendor from Montego Bay.

Mahoe Gaming Enterprises was given the go-ahead by the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) on February 3 with  hundreds of retailers already signed on and many hundreds more applications received for processing. This is an indication that the new lottery will also provide new employment in Jamaica.

“It’s a good feeling to be a part of something new, the experience is different and very unique for me. The response from my customers has been very good, they are excited to try the new games and see what it’s all about,” stated Achelicia Allen, cashier, at the newly opened Pow Pow Gaming Lounge in St. Ann.

Izizzi Lottery offers customers a chance in six daily draws and the chance to play one-, three-, and four-ball games; a once-daily lotto; and an all-day game played every four minutes.

“It’s a pleasure for me to try new things, I’m hoping that it is an easier system, one that you can win easier and I’ll be trying more and more to see what is going on with it,” said Wayne Ennever, painter and the first person to purchase a ticket at MK Samms in Montego Bay.

The new gaming entrants are also expressing excitement and the prospect of providing options for the gaming public.

“With our business model, everybody wins. We are offering new and exciting options to players, supporting social-enhancement programmes, and providing revenue to the Government with our products,” Mahoe Chairman Michelle Myers Mayne said.
